does homeopathy work?
Homeopathy has been in existence for over 200 years (see the history page for more details), and is based on principles far older than that. It is an increasingly popular alternative system of healing which has attracted much scepticism from the conventional medical profession because it has been difficult to prove "scientifically". This is because it is an individual medicine and therefore impossible to test properly using the traditional RCT (Randomised Control Trial) model.
However, its success with patients shows that not only does it work, it is inherently safe and consistently curative. If this were this not true it would have disappeared long ago, in the same way that several conventional drugs and treatments disappear every year.
Homeopathy also works extremely well for babies and even animals, where the improvements cannot simply be put down to the placebo effect.
Please see the FAQ's for some of the conditions that homeopathy can treat.
who can benefit from homeopathy?
Anyone! People come for homeopathic treatment for many different reasons. Whilst of great use in first aid situations, homeopathy is also very effective for treating deep seated or long term symptoms because it addresses the underlying cause. Homeopathy is also highly effective in treating mental and emotional states such as shock, depression and anxiety, or for support during times of grief, stress or change. Many people turn to homeopathy because conventional medication has not been able to help them, or because they do not wish to go onto medication that may have side effects.
Homeopathic remedies act deeply but gently, improving energy levels and often promoting a positive outlook and sense of wellbeing. They are suitable for everyone, including young children, pregnant women, men and the elderly. It is never too early or too late to start treatment!
